 Hi! I am Angela Counts, co-owner of Dog’s Day Out. I have lived in Bowling Green, KY since 1981. I graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended Western Kentucky University. I graduated from the University Of Kentucky in 1991 and currently work as a Physical Therapist.
After several years of volunteering at the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society and caring for my own dogs, I realized I wanted to open a place in Bowling Green where animal lovers in our community could bring their furry family members and leave them without a worry.
Understanding that this dream comes with a lot of responsibility, I wanted to learn more about dogs in order to provide a safe environment for them to play. Pam and I attended a seminar by Cesar Milan, the famous “Dog Whisperer” and were intrigued to continue learning. We both then went to California to mentor under Delores Burton, who works at the Dog Psychology Center. Through this amazing experience, we learned more detail about a dog’s language, natural behavior, and instinctive reactions.
I am Pam Brown, co-owner of Dog’s Day Out. When I began volunteering at our local humane society walking dogs, bathing dogs, and participating in fund raising events, my connection with dogs seemed to grow stronger as did my desire to help them. During this time, I also began to take one of my own dogs to the nursing facility where I work in the Physical Therapy department. As I witnessed the change an animal can make in a person’s day, I decided I wanted to further my knowledge about dogs and enable myself to help people enhance their own lives through a great relationship with a pet.
After attending seminars and reading many books, I decided to further my education and enroll in Animal Behavior College. Upon graduating from their program, I feel I have the knowledge to properly care for dogs and provide a safe place for them to play, interact, and brush up on their socialization skills.
We are very excited about our facility and the services we offer at Dog's Day Out. We want to go beyond the expectations you have for the care of your pet.
